Silver nanowires with high aspect ratio

There are several routes to synthesize silver nanoparticles. For silver nanowires we have chosen the template-less wet-chemical route to obtain wires, which posses diameters of few nanometers and are some micrometers long. We managed to overcome the difficulties reported in present literature, which are: the concentration has to be kept very low and the low yield, i.e., the low overall yield of silver formation, as well as the ratio of nanowires to other particles.

By these silver nanowires with high aspect ratio, a highly conducting network can easily be formed to provide very thin and transparent conducting films.

The availability of such silver nanowires ranges from powders or solvent wetted powders (to prevent dust) to pastes and dispersions.
